The Yankees Really Don't Get Recession....

Silly Rabbit.

Sure, the Yankees infuriated everyone in baseball with their 200-gazillion dollar payroll. Sure, they hiked up premium seat prices to a ridiculous level at the new Arlington, I mean Yankee Stadium. But does that mean they are completely oblivious to the major economic recession hitting our country? Well, not exactly. If teams have money, they should be allowed to dispense as they see fit to improve talent. And let's face it, the 8 percent of Americans cashing an unemployment check aren't battling for 3rd row seats behind the plate at the Bronx.

But I stupidly gave them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe because I have and always will be a Joe Girardi fan. Not anymore. Not after what they are doing to the opposing media, as documented by the Daily News' Bob Raissman. In the words of Buzz Bissinger, this column pisses the shit out of me!" And probably not as much as the Big Apple TV outlets who get to spend 4 grand or more for the privilege of doing live hits from "The Stadium." Or the channels spending 12 K per game to park their trucks/equipment in the lots at "The Stadium."

Be outraged HERE.
